An actibe person, mostly through the pursuit of outdoor activities like offtrack walking and technical climbing, including volunteering roles as a trainer. Along the way he discovered Aikido, as a kind of biomechanics force minimisation problem, 20 yrs on he is intrigued.

Today he is a level 2 national coach through the NCAS scheme and is a professional member of Sports Medicine Australia. He has formal qualifications in the martial art of Aikido and served on national bodies in the areas of policy development. He has organised and hosted several national training camps as well as arranged overseas seminars in Japan.
